Taps Fish House & Brewery

Posted by swobodasays on March 31, 2009

Taps Fish House & Brewery
101 E Imperial Hwy, Brea, CA 92821 (714) 257-0101

We found Taps Restaurant by accident when we went to Brea on night. What a great accident.!

First the ambiance is awesome and the music was great, the best thing, the patrons were in the 30 – 50 range, with some PYT of course.

It is a small world, the bartender was from a restaurant we used to go to in Mission Viejo that closed a while back!

He was very nice, the food was VERY good, one of the best steaks EveR! It isn’t a super cheap place to go but the food and drinks are worth the price in quality and quantity. (I lost my reciept or I would give you the details sorry ;-(.

The only downside for us is that is FAR Away from where we live, but if we are out this way again we are definately eatting here again.

Also, if you follow my green blog, they are in the entertainment book so you get a good discount.

Posted by swobodasays on March 29, 2009

I rear-ended a car this morning. So, there we were alongside the road and

slowly the other driver got out of his car. You know how sometimes you just

get soooo stressed and little things just seem funny? Yeah, well I couldn’t

believe it…. he was a DWARF!!! He stormed over to my car, looked up at

me, and shouted, “I AM NOT HAPPY!!!” So, I looked down at him and said,

“Well, then which one are you?

Letter to State Board re: Emeritus

Posted by swobodasays on March 27, 2009

This is gonna get UGLY folks:

Dear RCSE:

Re:

Emeritus at Brookhurst

15302 Brookhurst Street

I would like to make a complaint against Emeritus at Brookhurst, I  do not believe they are taking care of their residents. I moved my dad there from Emeritus at Fairview in Anaheim on 10/30/2008.

12/22/8 – I had to Force Emeritus @ Brookhurst to send my dad via ambulance to St. Jude Hospital for an infected spider bite.

I have another company I use Alta Home Care, when needed I send them to look in on my dad, take him to doctor appointments and out to get lunch and see his wife.  They let me know that my dad was extremely agitated because he had a rash all over and it wasn’t going away.

Based on this info

1/26/9 –  Based on this info I had to Force Emeritus @ Brookhurst to send my dad via ambulance to Orange Coast Medical Center – he ended up in the hospital for 3 days with antibiotics trying to get rid of the rash.

In between 1/26/9 and his 2 week follow up appointment for the rash (that still hasn’t gone away) I continued to have Alta Home Care check up on my dad and see to his needs and get him to his doctors appointments. During this time he fell twice and developed a hernia, which needed surgery.

He had outpatient surgery on 3/20 for his hernia, I had Alta Home Care stay with him when he went back to Emeritus and the Care Provider let the facility know that he would need to have extra supervision for a few days to make sure everything went all right.

I received a voice message on 3/22 stating “you need to go pick up his meds from CVS”,  When I called back, they had no idea what medications they were or what CVS they were at.  I told them since they have a CVS directly across the street, they needed to find out where the meds where, get them transferred to CVS and get them picked up.  They stated that they would do that right away.

I then received a voice message on 3/24/9 stating that my dad had fallen out of his wheelchair, he was fine except for a bump on his head.  I had Alta home care go check on him on 3/25 and the caretaker found him moaning in pain in his room with diarrhea.

I had to FORCE the facility to order an ambulance to take him to the hospital  Fountain Valley, where he arrived dehydrated and in bad condition.  He has since been transferred to St. Judes where at this time he is STILL in critical condition with dehydration and an infection.

If I did not have Alta Home Care go check on my dad it is very possible he would be DEAD NOW.  This in unacceptable!

He will NOT be going back to this facility, however; there are still other residents who maybe in physical danger due to neglect.

Sincerely,

Debby

Emeritus at Brookhurst Warning

Posted by swobodasays on March 26, 2009

I have had to pull my dad from Emeritus at Brookhurst, for who have been following my blog I have had problems with this place.  Since he has been there from oct 2008 he has been in the hosptial 3 times and fallen twice.

He is currently in the hospital because he is dehydrated because they weren’t caring for him.  I have Alta Care go and look in on him and he was moaning in pain, I had to FORCE the facility to call an ambulance to take him to the hospital.

This has been an awful experience – I will fill you in on more detail but for now – DO NOT USE BROOKHURST AT EMERITUS

The “Real” Housewives of OC – Really? NOT!

Posted by swobodasays on March 25, 2009

Lets get the facts straight, these women DO NOT represent 95% of the OC real housewives.

They represent an small enclave of Women who live in a the MULTImillion dollar estates of Coto De Caza! So they really should rename it to the “Real” Housewives of Coto. Stop making the rest of us in the REAL OC look like Beverly Hills 90201 the College/Marriage years!

I keep trying to tell my husband I am a T.W. (Trophy wife) so we should move to Coto, so far not so good! I guess I wouldn’t fit in. I work full time, have 2 kids 1 in HS 1 in College, no arrest records, no addictions, no affairs we have been married happily 22 years and counting.

I prefer to be a Real Housewife in OC, not a TV enhanced fairytale Coto Princess!

Yea and the next time my hubby calls me an OC housewife I am gonna smack him!

Get Active – Get In Touch With Your Kids

Posted by swobodasays on March 23, 2009

The best way to have a healthy lifestyle for kids (and adults) is to get active. The little amount of activity they do at school is NOT enough. Instead of saying we are all gonna exercise, get an activity going. Do they like basketball, football, soccer? Get them on a league. Do they like to skate or bike, take them to the park. The only way your kid(s) is going to get healthy is if you get involved. Be there, do that with them. I started walking the dogs and making my then 15yr old go with me (I told him I couldn’t walk them both by myself :) .

Not only did we both get in better shape, had much happier doggies, but he actually talked to me, kind of hard to ignore me for a whole 30 min walk, (hee hee). But we got back in touch, that was even more rewarding for me as a mom. My other son loves basketball so his dad plays with him almost everynight. Great exercise but also bonding that is important in a childs life.

Soo if they like to bike, get a bike and go to the park, if they like to skate (I can’t) you can walk while they skate around you. Take the dogs for a walk, play tennis, catch, get out of the house and off the couch, turn off the tv, computer, video games.

Get involved, it is rewarding in all sorts of ways!

Posted by swobodasays on March 21, 2009

Ok, I am going to give you the inside scope here, but if it gets sooo busy I can no longer get in I AM not gonna give you any more of MY hidden gems!

Uncorked Wine Boutique & Bar – 22342 El Paseo Suite A, RSM, CA 949-589-1156

This is a GREAT wine bar.  We have been coming here for a while and they did a little remodel of the seating area and the menu and it is even BETTER!

They have a very nice bar, off bar seating area and live music and TV’s.  The prices are great!  The owners are very nice & friendly.  When we are in this area we always stop in.  Never had a bad experience or a blown budget!

They have a new Bubbly Trio which is 3 Champagne Drinks – OMG good!  If you like the Bubbly this is for you, $16.  My husband had a Gouguenheim Malbec, which he says is great (I have no idea I DON”T like Reds) (3)$5.00 each.  Then the Piece De Resistance  the “Alysia Rayne” high dig Bubbly with….. Gourmet Chocolates.  OHHHHH YEA!!!!!  Highly recommend!

Debt/Tax relief bullshit!

Posted by swobodasays on March 18, 2009

I keep hearing these commercials, if you owe more then 10k in debt call us. Or if you owe a huge amount of taxes to the IRS call us and we will reduce what you owe.

WhY? Why should they be able to shrik their debts? They owe it they should have to pay it. Make a payment arrangement, ok, I get that, but on the one commericial they show these huge sums of money they owed and then they pay maybe 10%.

Shit why don’t we ALL just stop paying our taxes and then will the bill get real big go to these people and pay pennies on the dollar!!!!

Why, oh that is right, I made my debt so i PAY my debt. I owe taxes so I PAY my taxes. I don’t expect the rest of you to pay more in taxes to make up for what I got out of. Silly me.

We wonder why we are in such a big mess? Because no one wants to be responsible for their actions, that’s why. And the few of us that actually do end up paying waaaay more then our share.

Hey you can’t afford something, DON”T FREAKIN BUY IT!!!!

Thats what the rest of us do!!!

Yea I am pissed off. Every year, I pay my taxes, which go up, and get less and less for my taxes. Shit, might as well make it a socialist country!
