Wu-Yi Diet Success

The first few pages talk about 3 different ways to enjoy the tea. Since we are skipping the Tea we will skip those pages. So on to step 2 Pay Attention! As you can see it is basic common sense and things I have already read/heard/seen, but still good info:

“Whenever you eat something it directly impacts your overall body functions……..” (if you want the whole book by the tea I am soooo not blogging All of it, I do have a life you know!)

Basic Guidelines for healthy eating:

Snack on veggies….. (really? duh!)

Fill up on fibre(I think they meant Fiber) – low density high fibre (fiber) foods are a good choice (seriously folks, this is very good advice!)

Lose the Yolk – (again very good advice, if I am making eggs for me I use 3 egg whites and 1 yolk, since I cut out a lot of meat it is good protein)

No skin on your meat…..white meat instead of red……

Vegetables

Raw or Steamed …….

Warning: adding butter, cream sauce …….. can skyrocket the calorie count in your veggie snack…. (wow, I had NoO Idea)

Breads & Grain Products & Fruit

Choose the higher fiber foods whenever possible ….brown rice, 100% wheat bread….in place of white and refined grains will help your body process better and store less fat (Store LESS Fat!)

Fruits are best eaten in their natural state…. don’t overdo it …. rich in calories

Proteins – lean cuts of meat….white meat….provide protein with less fat, Tofu is also an excellent option.

Fats -

….Good fats….olive oil, flaxseed oil & nuts….high in calories so don’t eat large servings

stay away from trans fats and saturated fats (darn those taste the best!)……

Beverages

Water is best – try to drink 8 glasses a day, stay away from soda, full fat milk and alcoholic beverages (awww, that’s no fun!), coffee and tea are alright (really since this is a TEA diet, I would hope so) as long as you don’t add cream or sugar

Desserts & other high calorie snacks

if at all possible avoid these, that means keeping them out of the house, if that chocolate is just too irresistible, limit yourself to a small piece (yea not in this life time, besides, ChoCoLate is good for you!)

  1. Sorry for nit picking-and I would not except for your repeated references but it is you who is wrong.

Ihe word is fibre, and fiber is an misspelling that became part of Americana after decades of use.

The language is called English after all-not American

    • Dear Duck,
Your are free to Nit-Pik as I am NOT to change the spelling. Since I am American I will be spelling it the way I was taught in my Americana School.

It may be “English” but considering how many different countries speak it, with different dialects, inflections, connotations, words and meanings, I am sure there are lots of words that have gotten “bastardized” over the centuries.

So feel free to “nit-pik” by the way do you know where that phrase came from? And I will feel free to ignore you.

  2. The phrase comes from the task of removing the tiny eggs of lice (nits) from someone’s hair and clothing, a tedious activity that required close attention and care.

Thus the figurative sense of nit-picking is “petty criticism or fault finding”

The way I used it was self derogatory,as my intention certainly was not to upset.

I never for a moment suggested you change your spelling-my point was it is better not to sneer at others unless you know the facts.

As I said,it was only your repeated sneering at the spelling, when in fact it was correct that prompted my comment;which of course you are free to ignore.

    • Dear Duck,

I am glad to see that you do know where “nit-picking” comes from, however, I am not sure how my comments can be called “sneering” on this post.

I wasn’t “sneering” at the spelling, I was explaining to those reading that I was sure they meant Fiber as “Fibre” seems to be a spelling mistake.

Fill up on fibre(I think they meant Fiber) – low density high fibre (fiber)

So while I do appreciate the input, it could have been much simpler and less incendiary to state something like oohhh lets see….

“Fibre is an accepted spelling of Fiber in many countries and as such is not a mistake in their printing”

      rather then

…… is an misspelling that became part of Americana …. The language is called English after all-not American

I believe if anyone is “sneering” because they feel they are more “knowledgeable” then the rest of us, it is probably you.

So yes I will freely ignore your comments and continue to use the following spelling

      F I B E R in my posts.
