World Ends 2012??

“they” say the Mayans made the calendar and it has been acurate for hundreds of years, and since the last calendar ends in 2012 our world end!
Ehemm, excuse me, just think a moment, the Mayans went extinct, soooo, when THEY went extinct they STOPPED making calendars!!!!
So how in the world do you interupt an civilization going extinct and not being around to make any more calendars into the world is going to end on the last calendar they made!!!!
