Today, as I was paying at the store I read a tip jar sign that said “Every time you DON’T tip…a unicorn dies!!!” At first I thought it was a silly sign until I saw three different young children start crying because they didn’t want to see a unicorn die. All of their parents tipped. Genius. MLIA

Football Fanatics

Just how much football can one person be subjected to before they go crazy?

My husband watches Professional and College Football AND Basketball and if there  isn’t a game on then he goes to ESPN to get news about the games and now he is watching SOCCER…. SOCCER for gawds sake!

Seriously…

I had to have a discussion with some of my employees who couldn’t seem to either make it to work on time, or even make it in at all.

One of the statements made was “you always say something when we are late but you never say anything we we are here on time!” huh???

Do you actually want an Award for showing up at your scheduled time everyday? Isn’t that part of your job, isn’t that what we PAY you for???

WTF people, do you want an award when you wipe your ass too?

If someone comes up with a good idea, I give them the credit they deserve. If we have a big project and they kick butt I buy lunch or bring in something to show my appreciation, but seriously your job is to show up EVERYDAY at 8:00AM.

Let see what we have done for our employees in the past, shall we….

While going to school every semester the hours needed to change for school, we worked around it.

When they needed to go part time to finish thier degrees we rescheduled.

When they wanted to go to EUROPE for 3 MONTHS, we saved their job, hired a temp, and kept their insurance in place.

I think that is being pretty damn flexible for an employer!

However, we have been very very slow lately, so I had to cut back some peoples  hours by 10%, however, they get that money from the state, so it isn’t like they lost any money, they actually get money while NOT working.  And they still get FULL insurance benefits!

Salaried people got a 10% cut but still have to work the SAME hours.

Come on people – Grow up and show up or you will be replaced by those who appreciate what we have done in the past, understand what we need to do presently and can look forward to the future.

Rumbi Review

Sorry….. I have been off my game for a while, but I am getting back in the swing of things.

Let’s start with Rumbi – it is a Quick Dining restaurant, and it is GOOD! They feature chicken bowls with a twist, different flavors Hawaiian Teriyaki, Jamaican Jerk, Bali Island and you have a choice of white rice, brown rice, rumbi rice or Noodles OR you can get Salads (I am trying to eat all of them, but I keep falling of the wagon and going back to my favorite South Seas Chicken Salad) plus lots of other entrees,

Since they make the food fresh it is no big deal to make changes (i.e. NO onions, scallions, anything hot!) They haven’t messed up our orders once, what a nice change.

I have signed up for the loyalty program (9 dinners and next one free) and I use every coupon I get. Not only is the food very good the portions are large and the staff is excellent.

I highly recommend this restaurant, good food, good service, good portions, good prices!

Dad is Home!

My dad has been on Morphine for the pain but he had an allergic reaction so they took him off of it and put him on another pain killer.

This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, once he started using the other one he was able to get up and get dressed, ect so they let him come home.

He is very very happy, that place was bad!  Especially the night nurses who acted like the patients were BOTHERING them if they needed something.  What kind of shit is that?

Since he was in the hospital for Thanksgiving my mom didn’t do a turkey for thanksgiving, I brought them down leftovers because my dad loves his leftover turkey sandwiches!

Dad’s Recovery Fiasco

Soo as you all know my dad fell again, and we finally got him to a convalescent hosptial.

So what do they do???  They put him in the Alzheimer’s ward! Hello, my dad is fine mentally, it is his pelvic not his brain that is the problem.

So my mom told them to “get him out of there NOW”, so when she comes back the next AM his is STILL in there, so my mom said Move him and they said there weren’t any other beds available, so when she said “then we will move him to another facility” and POOF another bed appeared.

What kind of crap is that!

Smoking Kills..

we all know that, and if you choose to smoke and are under the age of 50, and get a smoking related illness don’t try and SUE someone!

Now for those smokers in their 60’s + who were bombarded with smoking ads and back when everyone denied smoking was bad, THEY can sue.

The rest of ya, you know what you are doing!  You are playing Russian Roulett with your life and you are that is your right, but don’t try and get the Tobacco Companines or Insurance Compaines or Government (read… the rest of us NON-smoking, taxpayers) to pay for your pain and suffering!

What kind of jury says the smoker is 10% responsible and the tobacco industry 90% responsible for her smoking?  Did the CFO hold her down and force her to inhale?  Did the stock holders grap her off the street and shove a cigarette in her mouth and say “Smoke or you die???!!!”

What kind of shit is this, take responsiblity for your actions!
