Ebayers and Shipping Charges

When I BUY from Ebay I always check the shipping and see if combined with the price I want to pay the total or not.

When I SELL I LIST the shipping, there is no guessing, no surprises ect.

Either as a buyer or seller you know BEFORE you bid what the shipping will be.

So if you bid you are in essence AGREEING to the shipping, so why should buyers be able to leave negative numbers for the shipping charges???

If you don’t agree with the shipping DON’T BID!!!!!

  1. I don’t know how you tolerate it. I tried for about a month, and I just wanted to pull my hair out. People can be down right rude and nasty. But I so agree, there should be some way of not allowing certain people to leave negative feedback, or a way to have it not count against you.

  2. We quit selling on eBay and opened our own online store some years ago. We just decided it was more hassle than it was worth to us to squeeze the last possible cent out of each sale. So, sometimes we sell items for less than they would have sold for on eBay. We’ll live, and are a lot less hassled.

I agree 100% about the TOTAL cost being what a buyer should look at. If they’re not happy with it, then don’t bid or buy. We do pay for Endicia postage, so our printed shipping label does not show the actual postage. That has cut down on a lot of complaints over the years. It’s not that we charge so much, but some people just like something to complain about.

  3. It doesn’t matter how hard you try. We give free postage; one woman wrote to us to say that we’d just put up the price to make up for it. There is no pleasing some people

  5. I agree, open your own store front using some of the great shopping packages out there. You have to market a bit more on your own, but you will get seen and people will come to you! Blogging about your business (and your own shopping site) helps too!
