Why does it have to be ALL the way or your wrong?

As you know I am trying to go au naturale and vegetarian, but when I eat dairy or fowl I try and make sure it is free range, grass fed, yada yada yada…. what I don’t get is why people feel that you have to go all Vegan all the time to make a difference.

Telling someone they are wrong and they need to change to your way because you are right is NOT the way to do it people. I don’t force my family to eat like I do, and they are fine making sure when we go out there is usually a non-meat alternative for me.

My husband likes to joke his is a “part-time” vegetarian, I told him no such thing, but as I thought about it, what if instead of trying to force veganism, we start with a small change, like maybe having people trying being part-time vegetarians, like my man….gosh I hate when he is right 🙂

Think about it, don’t try to go all tofu and stuff right away, start by swapping meat with cheese….let’s see instead of Raviolis with meat, have them with cheese, or spinach & ricotta, or mushrooms, instead of Lasagna with meat, Cheese or Veggie Lasagna….how about instead of a meat sandwich try a grilled cheese and tomatoes or/and avocado and/or sprouts ….how about mac n cheese…..how about red beans and rice soups or tomato soup or vegetable soup….what you mean people already eat these things, wow, a bunch of part-time vegetarians already.

How about moving away from the red meat to turkey or chicken (remember I didn’t say Vegan) first, have turkey burgers, turkey meatloaf, chicken taco’s, I love me some potato tacos, never new they existed but they be good!

Now while making this change is all great and all, why do it really? I do it for my waistline (getting smaller) and my bank account (keeping it as big as I can), I do it for my health, what also happens is a happy by product, it is better for the planet and the animals, don’t you wish there were more things that had this kind of “side effect”.

Just think, instead of trying to turn people into Vegans, if say 25% of the people went partime vegetarian say about 25% of the time, it would make a huge difference!

And if 25% of those people went the next step to Veganism, it would still be a win for everyone. So stop trying to force your world view, it is annoying, instead, encourage an easy, low cost, healthy way of eating, we may all be surprised.

A bunch of us are already there and didn’t know it. So own… you don’t have to be a tofu eater to make a difference 🙂
