Woo Hoo, finally I got a tomato I can eat

and eat it I did, with some slices of cucumber. ย Nice tasty salad…..nice to know that the tomato I know is free of pesticides and any kind of harmful things as I grew it from a seed my self, and it was mighty tasty if I do say so myself…I was so excited I forget to take a picture of my salad before I ate it ๐Ÿ™‚

Going au naturale

Food wise people, jeez ๐Ÿ™‚

The problem with food today isn’t just organic vs non-organic, it is also all the artificial ingredients that you body doesn’t know how to handle.

So I am going to go Au Naturale…

First off I am NOT going to throw everything out and start fresh, that is just a waste of food and money, what I am going to do is when I run out of something I will replace it with a more natural product.

Second, I am going to move away from the Low Fat and Non Fat items, for 2 reasons, first your body knows what to do with fat and second, you body NEEDS fat to function. Compare the labels of you Full Fat, Low Fat and Non-fat versions. You will find the less fat there is the more artificial ingredients and fills they use.

I will be reducing my intake of the full fat foods, and again, not cold turkey, I will reduce 10%, then 25%, then 50% and hopefully to 75%. I will use less of the better product.

I have been weaning my self off of Diet Cola. Last week, I ate a lot more food, a cupcake (or two) fell into my mouth some how, and I didn’t do any exercise (what can I say, I am human) and yet I managed to LOSE 8oz that week?! I will take that. The only difference was I ate mostly natural foods (except for those sneaky cupcakes that forced themselves on my ๐Ÿ™‚ and stopped the diet cola which is FULL of artificial ingredients.

So I say come along for the ride, the most you have to lose is some pounds and maybe get healthier and feel better at the same time.

Organic vs NonOrganic is not the question

Organic food full of preservatives and additives is just as bad.

Think of all the food problems lately that were never an issue:

No Peanut Butter Sandwiches at schools because of allergies & Gluten Intolerance are just two that stand out.

Think about all the artificial ingrediants in our foods that aren’t allowed anywhere else in the world, then look at our food problems and weight issues…hmmm no one see a connection?

In the US big companies are more interested in their profits then the consumers health. The only way to change is to stop buying their products. YOu can see the change happening already. More and more items with out artificial colors and additives.

So the question is …. is my food free from poisons (fertilizers and pesticides) and artificial ingrediants and preservatives. I don’t think humans where meant to eat petrol based products. they may be good for cars but not bodies.
