Sometimes you just gotta do it

what can I say, I have been doing good lately, but I was jonesing for some carbs, so I had a reasonably healthy choice , shells with cheese and spinach.

While it was yummy in my tummy, I took a hit on WW, but gosh darn it, it was worth it 🙂

Actually I would have been alright, but two days later we went to lunch with the kids and I had 5, yes, so embarrassing, but I ate 5 biscuits, they were like air!

So I didn’t lose, and I only gained .04, so I am happy with that!

This is a life style, not a diet, so I won’t be perfect, still I can enjoy what I want and feel pretty darn good about it.

Plus went clothes shopping and went down 2 sizes (yeah my clothes were slightly baggy….) and the clothes were on sale 50% off….boyah!  Happy Dance!

Kitchen Mash-up WW style

So the other day we went to a Mexican Restaurant, I got the beef soup, it reminds me of a Hispanic version of beef stew.   It had broth, beef, squash, carrots, potatoes. Of course there was to much so I took some of it home.

So the next day, I dumped the leftover soup in a pot, added more water corn, beans, tomatoes and some spices, very good, (only 3 pts for beef) and made a lot, so my mom has some beef stew soup coming her way also!

Happy WW Dance

so went back to WW and with my clothes on…..  135.2, Happy Happy Joy Joy, so I am on maintenance now, so gotta go 6 weeks without going up more then 2lbs, then I will be WW for life!

Now remember, I am 5….I used to by 5 3/4, I need that freaking 3/4 in back darn it!  My husband says by the time I am 90 I will be to small to see, he also says my next eyeglass prescription is a Seeing Eye Dog, soooo, yea, this is my life 🙂

So every 5 to 7 lbs is a size different, good to lose weight, bad to buy clothes that won’t fit in a few weeks, good thing I kept a bunch of “skinny” clothes, however, some of them are way out of style….been a long time since I was this low in weight, but a good problem to have!

HA, off the plateu…

finally!  started losing weight again!  But then I find out not only do I need to hit my goal weight, I have to stay there or less for 6 weeks before I get lifetime in WW.   Auuuggghhh!

On a side note, I am down to 5 of those darn Orange Theory Workouts!  F>>>I>>>V>>>E!

I will be so happy when those are done, I have been doing my yoga, trying for 2 times a week and OT 1 time a week.  This will extend my 20 sessions of yoga I got 40% off on !

So I guess once I hit my goal weight I will go back to WW meetings so they can track my 6 weeks for my lifetime WW 😉

Kitchen mash-up WW style

so, I have been fighting those last 7lbs, it has been hard, luckily I haven’t gained, just stayed the same.

But, I am back at it, let’s see how it goes.  It has been harder since my senior dog is like a baby and i have to get up a few times a night to take him out and I find myself snacking in the wee hours…sigh…..

So I have been adding points to my day and making sure to eat low point meals to make up for it.

So, I bought some frozen butternut squash and had my husband cook it on the grill, didn’t work to good, so I had left overs from that.  Then we had bbq’d and we had left over corn, beans and canned tomatoes.  So I made butternut soup and gave it a southwest kick by adding the beans, corn and tomotoes.  All at ZERO points but full of flavor and good for you!

7 freaking pounds…… that is what is left

to lose to reach my goal weight and get FREE weight watchers for life.  I have needed to lose those pounds for 2 months now.

The good thing?  Even going thru the Food Triangle (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) of parties I have stayed the same weight, surprised?? I sure was, when I went in Xmas Eve and weighed in, same weight, no gain, now I will take this, the habits learned in WW are working.  But I gotta get rid of this last 7!!!!!!

Why or why is it so hard….hmmm….could be all the sweets, but I just tossed out all the goodies in the fridge and freezer, (I have no will power, so if it isn’t here, I can’t eat it :), and I am almost over my bronchitis so it will be back to exercising.

Speaking of exercising, as you all know I am “doing” Orange Theory, and in theory it should work, that being said, I am NOT super competitive and I don’t like to sweat, so when I went to my last workout and she said “just want to let you know you have 6 sessions left, but we are having a 20% xmas sale so you can get more”…..my INNER voice said “THANK FREAKING GOODNESS , only 6 more torture sessions left, if she thinks I am buying anymore she is CRAZY!”…..my outer voice said “Ok thanks for the info”.

I have worked my way through 19 out of 25 sessions, I could stop now, but you know me and money, no can do, I will get through this, even though 5 of those sessions where “free” so if I only did one more I would technically be done….but I just can’t, I can’t help myself….only thing I hate more then exercising and sweating is wasting money!!!!

Healthy Kitchen MashUp!

So on one of my last posts I mentioned eating healthy while not going broke,  … so here we are

I was making a soup for my mom, using here “prepper” food, when I thought, hmmmm, cornbread muffins would be good with this!

I looked up a couple of low carb recipes and they call for all sorts of expensive flours, which I don’t have.

Soooo, I went to my pantry, pulled out my oats, and blended 1 cup of them.  Then I pulled up a standard recipes for Corn Muffins….

  • 1 Cup flour = 3/4 of my standard flour mix (right now consists of mostly white and wheat with a little soy) and 1/4 cup of my just blended oat flour
  • 1 Cup Corn Meal = 3/4 corn meal 1/4 just blended oat flour
  • 2 tblsp Flax meal = need those fibers to lower the carb count
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt = couple grinds (to much salt is not good for you)
  • 1/4 cup oil = 1 blended apple (peel and all)
  • 1 egg –
  • 1 cup milk = had non-fat in fridge that is what I used
  • I had some corn on the cob left over from a BBQ so I cut off the kernels and added them 🙂
  • Pour in muffin pan
  • Cook 400 11-17 minutes

Well, Yummy, they aren’t to sweet (next time I may add some honey) but they are good with a nice texture and you can eat 2 for 6 WW points…because really, who eats just 1???

So a nice healthy muffin without spending a fortune!

WW tips – potato

so I love potatoes, some I got a bag of the small fingerling ones,   for breakfast I cut one up and fried it, plus an egg.

Only 2 pts, it is still big enough for my potato craving, but small enough not to use up a bunch of points!

You can also add to soup or make up small batch of potato salad without using lots of points!

Egg and Banana Pancake, I swear!

So I heard this recipe for Egg and Banana Pancake, and is true, it is good and seems like a regular pancake!

2 eggs, 1 banana, season with Cinnamon, and what else you would like, I blended it up and cooked it on a heated skillet, I did one big pancake, and it was good, plus NO points, eggs and fruit are free for WW!  I spiced mine up and it tasted like gingerbread.

Try it, you will like it!

WW + kitchen toys = Delish!

HA…..I love the WW app, the bar code scanner is a life saver!

The other day I spiralized some butternut squash, and yam, zero pts, then I put them on the T-Fal grill and made hash browns out of them.  Boo freaking YAH!

Grilled up some tofu (3 oz) 2 pts and goat cheese (3oz) 3pts, in skillet, warmed up some flatbread 1pt, and nice breakfast for 6pts.

In case you are wondering, on points system I have 30 daily points and 28 weekly (oops) points.  The daily reset every day to 30, the 28 don’t, they reset weekly.
